2015 has been a great year for weddings but with every passing season, there are learnings and ideas that come into the picture to plan ahead in a nicer, more insightful way. So, after all our research and experiences, here are some trends we feel will rock the season this year.

1) Pairing Food and Drinks:

Wine and cheese pairing is a thing of the past. The new trend this season is serving paired cocktails and food together for people to perfectly enjoy what they consume. Sounds appetizingly great, right?

2) Naked Cakes:

So, we have seen an array of delicious cakes in the past. As far as Delhi is concerned, Firefly has been churning out quite some delectable versions but given minimal is the call of the hour, naked cakes will sway this season. They feel fresh, look tempting and beautifully light on the stomach.

3) Elaborate Entertainment Options:

Going for a single band or a DJ is great but the right combination of varied music options keeping in mind varying moods and feelings is even better. Acts that capture the right essence of the right moment add a lot more charm to the event. Also going beyond music to other untouched creative forms is the key.

4) Freshly Picked Flowers and Food Elements in Decor:

As we mentioned earlier, this season is all about the natural, fresh feeling. So, whatever is freshly blooming around is the answer. Go for fresh, colourful and beautiful. Also bring in elements that are food based, coffee beans, herbs and so on. We are all foodies these days, food elements can only add to the sprightly spirit.

5) Innovative Lighting:

These days, it is all about setting the mood. Making things more comfortable, more intimate. And to make this happen, lighting plays the biggest role. This year, play with lights and feel an immediate difference.

6) Technology Fun:

Bringing technology to events to is the next big thing. We have already been seeing the hashtag and selfie trend taking over, but now we need to go beyond. Bring in smart apps, interactive booths, live video streaming, innovative tech games, seating arrangement tech connect- innovation is the key.

7) Smart Leftover  Usage:

At Eventalya, we have already been doing these things for a while now but this year it will also be high on the trend meter. Donate all the leftover food and flowers. RESOLUTIONS 2016-GET STARTED

This year literally flew by, didn’t it? Maybe it really did, maybe it is just us feeling it but whatever it is, this year make newer plans, live newer dreams, freshen up, get started and make it all come alive. Keep the agenda plain and simple- keeping yourself very, very happy. Here are some tips and ideas to get you started.

1) Travel a Lot:

This year, choose at least 1 to 2 International destinations and a few local ones and set out to feel yourself, explore, live and experience. However you are as a person, we are sure you have a certain place somewhere made for you to soak in and find yourself. Don’t have the money? Hang on, make a plan, and if you really, truly want that new experience, money will come in and things will happen. Dream Big. Work Hard.

2) Make your Special Days even more Special:

Whatever be the occasion, whatever be the day, find reasons to set-up beautiful experiences. You have us. Give us a call and we will help you make them special. But make sure you take out time for family, getting people you love together, making memories that matter and creating days that you can cherish forever.

3) Give Yourself Makeovers:

Now when we say makeovers, we mean inside and out. Read. Meet People. Talk. Share. Bring newer and fresher perspectives to your life. Smile a lot. Experiment with your hair. Try new things. Wear what you have always wanted but were never sure of wearing. Exercise. Meditate. Be a ‘New You’ whenever and however you want.

4) Do Creative Things:

Every once in a while, get creative. Indulging in some good creativity not only helps open your mind, it also brings in a pure sense of joy which is extremely hard to comprehend. Even if you suck at it, pick up a tutorial, bring in the things needed and get on it. Rest, we keep sharing creative DIY ideas from time to time. Trust us, you will feel the difference.

5) Love:

Are you in love already? Embrace it. Give it more time. Nurture it. And if you aren’t, give it chance. Fight for the fairy tale. Let it flow. The right one would come around and it would be totally worth it.

Creative Kitchen-Professionals who ‘RUIN’ your Big Day

Almost everyone dreams of a fairy-tale wedding. Ever since we are little, we get the idea into our head at some point, it lingers on, develops into things more beautiful, till the time the day comes when we know exactly what we want and how we plan to make it special. Given, most of get married once in our lifetime, the day holds a further bigger meaning. For the founder of Eventalya, the story was pretty much the same. To top it, she runs an Event Management Company, with a strong focus on curating gorgeous weddings. And when a person plans beautiful themes and ideas for everyone as a profession, her own wedding holds a very, very important significance.

So for her 4th December wedding, she was all set and ready to marry the man of her dreams and meticulously planning the details of the big day. Given she has been in the industry for long, she was very well aware of the best catering companies around and she wasn’t planning to leave anything till the end so that it is an enjoyable and comfortable affair for everyone, she listed her top favourites and set on it. Her family was of the idea that newer companies should always be given a chance as they have the zeal and enthusiasm to create beautiful stories,  so she zeroed in on Creative Kitchen run by Mr. Gurpreet Singh. All was planned well in advance to make for a seamless affair. Everyone in the house was relaxed and happy and looking forward to the occasion but to everyone’s dismay, Gurpreet backed out exactly then, that too two days before the wedding. He returned the advance back, without any clear intimation and left everyone hanging without a caterer for a 1500 people wedding. It was shocking, surprising, painful and a whole lot of trouble. Had the founder not been a planner herself, it would have been almost impossible to set up everything all over again with a gathering of that huge an expected number. The rest of the days ended up in chaos, with everything being set to the last minute thereby making the dream affair a troublesome one.

This blog is sincerely written with the intention of spreading awareness. We, at Eventalya, love what we do and are here to make people’s dreams come true rather than scarring them. But it does not seem like Mr. Gurpreet Singh lives the same ideology. We wish, hope and pray that no one else ever goes through an experience like this ever again. WINTER WEDDING THEMES TO SWOON OVER

It is that super beautiful time of the year where everything becomes warm, cozy, fuzzy and romantic. The choice of colours change so does the overall impact. We have been taking a round on the internet and here are some winter wedding themes that should totally be considered and implemented for that fabulous wedding.

Let us start with one of our favourite combinations. We love Golden Plum. When subtlety combines with the deeper plum, the essence of richness comes alive that adds beauty and grace, all at the same time. Even for a traditional Indian wedding, this combination is the perfect regal fit.

Another combination with the very royal plum is that of Emerald. Emerald in itself is an equally rich colour and even though plum and emerald are not a very conventional combination, we have a live sample right here for you to feel the electricity. We feel it is unique and marvelous, don’t you?

Our next choice is Dusty Blue with Cranberry. On the one hand dusty blue is subtle but poignant and on the other hand cranberry is fierce and new age. When these two opposites combine, the attraction is as beautiful as that of the perfect ‘opposites attract’ couple. For those of you who have found that amazingly opposite partner, there would be no better celebration than this heady metaphorical combination.

Gray is perceived as long-lasting, a classic, and often as sleek or refined. It is a color that is dignified, conservative, and carries authority. Gray is a perfect neutral- a lot like the idea of the perfect marriage. On the other hand, Crimson is the color of love and blood. It has close ties to royalty, nobility, and high social standing. When two such extremes combine, magic is bound to happen. See it to believe it.

Gold- the colour in itself says it all. It is the safest bet when it comes to choosing colours for your big day. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, this color implies affluence, material wealth and extravagance.Optimistic and positive, gold adds richness and warmth to everything with which it is associated – it illuminates and enhances other things around it. And aesthetically, it a sight to hold and behold. So, if you want to play it safe and bring in some dazzle, gold is the way to go!

Our last theme pick for the day? Jewel tones. When amber, teal, emerald, ruby and gold come together, all you need to do is prepare yourself for paradise. There is nothing as beautiful, abundant and gorgeous as the combination of these charmers. The Catch? Given, each of these colours is powerful and complete in its own right, it is extremely important to make the right aesthetic combinations. Once that is taken care of, the results will always be astounding.

HOT HAIRSTYLES THIS WEDDING SEASON

The Wedding Season is in full bloom and so is our search for some of the coolest hairstyles around the city. We have been attending quite a few weddings ourselves and we must admit that the style quotient is on a real high. So, today we have for you hairstyles that are rising up and up on the oomphmeter.

1. Braiding Down:

   
   There is nothing as beautiful as bringing the old back with a twist of new. We are drooling over this very long and lustrous braid with uneven thickness and a voluminous head. Sigh! Isn’t it beautiful?

   A tighter khajoori braid with a puff head. Simple and sensual.

We have all had our fair share of Jasmine flowers. Especially with those one-off trips down south, jasmine did become a very attractive choice. 3. Crystal Head-Pieces:

Next, we love the oh-so natural look.
